IMF Lowers China Growth Estimate on Trade Tensions

Government urged to avoid further stimulus unless escalation in U.S. dispute puts economic stability at risk

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) lowered its forecast for China’s economic growth this year to 6.2% from 6.3% on Wednesday, just two months after upgrading it, warning that “uncertainty around trade tensions remains high and risks are tilted to the downside.”
