Didi Partners With GAC Aion to Build Smart Electric Cars

Chinese ride-hailing giant Didi Chuxing is making another push into the white-hot electric-car making business through a tie-up with Guangzhou Automobile Group’s electric vehicle unit GAC Aion.

Didi and GAC Aion Monday announced a strategic partnership to jointly develop self-driving electric vehicles. The parties will discuss potential cooperation models, including a joint venture, and plan to jointly develop fully autonomous-driving vehicles.
