That deadline on U.S. President Donald Trump’s orders falls five days after a previous deadline he gave ByteDance to sell TikTok’s U.S. operations to a “very American company.”

U.S. President Donald Trump’s twin executive orders promising to ban Americans from as yet unspecified “transactions” with ByteDance Ltd. and Tencent Holdings Ltd. roiled Chinese markets Friday, injected more confusion into talks between TikTok and Microsoft Corp., and raised the specter of collateral damage to the vast U.S. gaming industry.
